Antiquing is fun

Wanted to show you a couple of neat old items I refinished — for you to enjoy when you come here to stay.

Below is a bedside table which I painted a soft green and then antiqued with bronze metallic paint.  It turned out great and it was really quite easy to achieve this effect… you can see a bit of it here beside the bed in the second bedroom.    DSC00980    Here’s a better photo, showing the detail stencilled on the top (and a very cool antique lamp):

Here’s an old cream jug, it was ready for the scrap-heap.  A coat of black Tremclad and then a dry-brush coat of royal blue enamel paint gave it a new lease on life.  It’s now in the dining room… it’s a bit hard to see here because the pussy-willow lights overwhelm the exposure, but that’s it holding the lights.  You will love these  soft lights, a nice accent for the dining room and a perfect night-light for the stairs.                  DSC00939
