Summer has sprung, new photos May 2018

Spring came roaring around the corner and it’s already glorious summer at the Cottage in Hills.

Lovely flowers greet you as you drive up to your destination, where you’ll enjoy an expansive, totally private yard… and jumping in the lake is less than 3 minutes away!

Picture yourself relaxing on the porch swing, idling away a warm afternoon with a good book.  Or relax on the lawn with a cold beverage and a view of the Valhalla mountains.

And be sure to meet our ambassador dog, Chacalita, who welcomes you to the idyllic Cottage in Hills.

Winter snow months: one-week minimum

Had winter guests for an extended stay and learned what that means in terms of keeping the road plowed and keeping the Cottage in Hills heated (the hydro bill, yikes!).  There is a wood stove but of course the electric heat is used as well.
From now on, winter stays will require a one-week minimum: that means our “stay 6 nights and your 7th night is free” special offer will apply!

The snow-months here are Dec./Jan./Feb./March.  Come and enjoy your own private ski chalet in the forest… and the utter peace and quiet.  Perfect for a retreat, a ski vacation, or a family getaway in our winter wonderland.

Lush and green setting: The Cottage in Hills

Our recent guests from California kept shaking their heads in wonder and saying “it is so amazingly GREEN here.”  Coming from an area that is experiencing a multi-year, serious drought, the Slocan Valley’s lush, verdant greenness was a treat for their eyes.  If you are looking for a soothing rural retreat where you can get back to nature and enjoy some down-time, this is the place for you.  If you are wanting to shop at a mall or ride a roller-coaster, not so much.  A rural retreat is not for everyone but those who “get it” love it here!    – The Manager, Lorna
